Salt Pond Boathouse Morning

Glaciers receding from the last ice age left depressions in the Earth that filled with freshwater all around Cape Cod in which the ocean eventually broke through, forming a channel into Nauset Marsh here, and changing the water into a brackish environment rich with salt water clams, oysters, mussels and fish.
